The Trivia Writers' Co-Op ("we," "us," "TWC") runs triviawriterscoop.com, a community site for professional trivia writers and hosts, and a public directory of the businesses and events they run. This page explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. We keep it plain - if anything here is unclear, reach us through our Contact page.

What we collect

• When you log in with Discord. We receive your Discord user ID, username, avatar, and which roles you hold in the TWC Discord server. This is stored only in a signed cookie in your own browser - we don't keep a separate account database of it on our end.
• When you submit an event, business profile, blog post, endorsement, or membership application. Whatever you type into that form: names, addresses, schedules, descriptions, contact details, links, and (for an anonymous event submission with no Discord account) a random edit token that acts as your password for editing it later.
• When you contact us or report an issue with a listing. Your message, and whatever contact info you choose to include.
• When you use "Use My Location" on the event map. Your coordinates stay in your browser - they're used only to center the map and are never sent to our server.
• Automatically. Standard server logs (like IP address and browser type), collected by our infrastructure providers to operate and secure the site.

We don't ask for or store passwords, payment details, or government IDs. Login is entirely through Discord's own sign-in.

Third-party services we use

• Discord - login, and the server where submitted events, blog posts, and endorsements get posted for community review. Subject to Discord's own privacy policy.
• Google Sheets - the database behind every submission form on this site.
• Netlify - website and application hosting.
• Cloudflare Turnstile - bot-verification on some forms; sees the form response token and your IP address when a form is submitted.

How we use your information

• To run the site: authenticate you, publish what you submit, and let you (or an admin) edit or remove it later.
• To review submissions for TWC Certification and moderate what gets posted publicly.
• To respond to contact messages and issue reports.
• To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

What's public

Content you submit through an event, business profile, blog post, or endorsement form is meant to be public - that's the point of those forms. It's posted to our public Discord channels for review, and (once approved) shown on this website. Don't put anything in those forms you don't want visible to the public.

How long we keep it

Submitted content is kept as long as it's live on the site (an event, profile, or post you remove is removed from public view; the underlying sheet row may persist briefly for our own recordkeeping before cleanup). Session cookies expire on their own and aren't stored anywhere but your browser. Server logs are held only briefly by our infrastructure providers.

Your choices

• Edit or delete most of your own submissions yourself, from your profile or the edit link an anonymous event submission gave you.
• Ask us to delete something you submitted, or any information we have about you, through our Contact page.
• Log out at any time, which clears your session cookie.

Children

This site is intended for a general, adult audience running or booking professional trivia events, and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
